In Vajrayana Buddhism, Amitabha Jang Chog is the most remarkable method to purify defilements for the deceased. Merely by hearing this prayer (Aspiration of Sukhavati), one is able to avoid the Three Lower Realms and take rebirth in the Three Upper Realms.
During the puja, the names of all the deceased will be written on the prayer tablets and will be burnt by the presiding master after the puja. To burn the tablet symbolises eliminating all obstacles and karma of the deceased. Through this purification, may all sentient beings be reborn in Amitabha's Pure Land.
阿弥陀佛超度法会是藏传最殊胜的度亡大法之一，此法之殊胜珍贵处于众生一闻此法名称(阿弥陀佛极乐愿文），将来便可出离下三恶道，往生三善道。法会期间所有亡者姓名将一一书写于超度牌位上并在法会结束后由主法上师和僧侣们火化回向。火化牌位象征智慧之火净除亡灵一切障碍及业障透过净化得生阿弥陀佛极乐净土。
